In contrast to a regular blood specimen, which contains only 6% platelets, PRP comprises 94% platelets and boasts 5 to 10 times the concentration of growth factors present in normal blood, endowing it with enhanced healing properties.

PRP represents a relatively recent treatment approach for various orthopaedic conditions, including muscle, ligament, and tendon injuries, arthritis, and fractures.
